Joyful Jerseys - Cows for Christ

Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. ~ Psalm 5:12

Registered Jerseys for Sale - see link above

Welcome to the Joyful Jerseys website. This small stud was registered in November 2011 as an early Christmas present from the wacky and cow-loving owners of Hydeaway Jerseys, Dinki and Jon Hyde, to their even wackier and just as cow-loving daughter, Firn Hyde. That's me, in case you haven't noticed. My parents' own Jersey stud consisted mainly of Princess (possibly a Jersey), Polo (almost a Jersey) and Pinki (no one was quite sure if she was even bovine) when they bought me my first cow, a reddish bag of bones named Blinkers who was most definitely a Jersey. Fast forward by nine or ten years and Blinkers's progeny has grown into what I call, with ridiculous pride, Joyful Jerseys. Along with the descendants of a little heifer named Fiona, Blinkers's offspring has managed to grow to 16 females and one little bull. Blinkers herself is still alive; at the age of fourteen she was retired. (I did say we were wacky).

Blinkers aside, all the cattle are either producing or well on their way toward that goal. Recently, alongside the "real" stud of Hydeaway Jerseys, I have started breeding my cows through artificial insemination and my first AI-bred calf was born in March 2012, a bull named Joyful Bartholomew who will be for sale in a few months' time. This winter I aspire to use sexed semen on a cow or two.

So right now all that Joyful Jerseys is, is a group of gentle brown cows owned and loved to pieces by a besotted teen. I adore cows, and I want to breed the best, happiest cows that I possibly can. Because these cows are for my parents and for myself, but most of all, they're for the Lord. And I think He deserves the best.

For an introduction to the Joyful cows and heifers, please see the menu bar on the left. I also have four cows in milk, three heifers and a bull calf for sale, all registered - please see the For Sale page for details. If you are interested in purchasing any of the cattle please use the "Contact Us" page.
